Photography I / Point of View
Practice question · Sort into groups

Sort each description by the camera height it implies.

Groups: Low angle · Eye level · High angle

Hints
  1. Two of the six are cases of not deciding rather than deciding.
  2. An adult who does not crouch has chosen a high angle by default.
Show the answer

Low angle: Ground view up facade, Foot of statue plinth

Eye level: Eye-level with sitter, Shot behind own stall

High angle: Down from top landing, Uncrouched child shot

Why

The fourth item is the point of the exercise. Not choosing a height is choosing one, and for most adults that default sits at about 1.6 metres, which is why so many photographs of children look down on them, and why crouching is the single cheapest improvement available to a beginner.
