Photography I / Types of Camera
Practice question · True or false

Parallax error affects the single-lens reflex because its viewing and taking paths are separate.

Hints
  1. Ask where the light in the reflex finder has come from.
  2. The mirror sits in the taking lens's own light path.
Show the answer

False

Why

False, and backwards. The reflex mirror intercepts the taking lens's own image, so what the photographer frames is what the film records. Parallax belongs to the twin-lens reflex and the rangefinder, which look through a separate window a few centimetres away.
