Sculpture I / Health, Safety and Sustainability in the Workshop
Practice question · Put in order

Arrange these steps of dealing with plaster waste in order.

Hints
  1. The sequence begins before any plaster is mixed.
  2. Sediment goes to solid waste at the end.
Show the answer
  1. Mix and use only the plaster needed
  2. Let surplus set in the container rather than washing it out
  3. Wash tools into a settling bucket, never the sink
  4. Let the sediment settle and pour off the clear water
  5. Send the set sediment to solid waste
Why

The first step is the one that removes most of the problem: plaster waste is mostly over-mixing, and estimating the quantity properly is both the cheapest control and the one nobody thinks of as a control at all.
