True, and it is an expensive lesson. Addition-cure silicone gives finer detail and lower shrinkage and is inhibited by sulphur-bearing clay, latex and certain resins, so a form modelled in ordinary plasticine can leave a mould that never sets. Sulphur-free plasticine exists precisely for this.
