Practice question · True or false

A digital negative printed on inkjet transparency film can be contact-printed onto silver-gelatin or alternative-process paper.

Hints
  1. Contact printing needs a negative the size of the finished print.
  2. Few photographers shoot film at 20 by 25 centimetres.
Show the answer

True

Why

True, and it is now how most alternative-process work is done. Platinum, cyanotype and salt printing all need a negative the size of the print, and printing one from a corrected file removes the need to shoot sheet film at that size, which is what brought those processes back into general practice.
