Sobre este curso

Mathematics I is a mathematics course built around doing, not memorising. Each lesson is short, and the practice that follows often asks you to act on a drawn object — drag the boundary of an integral, move a vector, reshape a curve — so the concept and the answer are the same thing. It replaces passive note-taking with a sequence of small, concrete problems.

The course begins with mathematical language, logic and proof, then arithmetic and number theory, before building the core machinery: matrices, vectors and linear algebra, followed by differential and integral calculus. It closes with data analysis and probability and an introduction to scientific programming, so you leave able to reason formally and compute practically.

It suits anyone learning or revising this mathematics — for a course, an exam, or before tackling harder material — and self-learners who want structure and rigour. Every unit is free to start, and the full lesson text is open-source on GitHub.

Perguntas frequentes

Is Mathematics I free?

Yes. Mathematics I is free on Tryals, on the web and on Android. The lesson content is also open-source under a CC BY-SA licence on GitHub, so you can read it anywhere.

How long is Mathematics I?

10 units, 100 lessons and 1,109 practice questions. It is self-paced: each lesson is short, followed by questions with instant feedback, and your progress is saved across devices.

Which languages is Mathematics I available in?

English, Catalan, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese. You can switch language inside the app.

Do I need prior mathematics knowledge?

Only secondary-school mathematics. The course starts from mathematical language and logic and builds each topic from its foundations, so it works both as a first pass and as a rigorous refresher.

How does the interactive practice work?

Many questions are interactive scenes — you drag the limit of an integral, move a vector, or reshape a function and the grading comes from what you manipulated, so you compute rather than recognise.

What can I use it for?

It covers the linear algebra, calculus, probability and reasoning that physics, engineering, computer science and economics rely on, so it works as preparation for any of them as well as a course in its own right.
